The Chamber of Minerals and Energy Western Australia (CMEWA) invite you to nominate a colleague or company for the 2020 Women in Resources Awards.

The awards are designed to recognise individuals and organisations working to build a world-class industry, which provides attractive career opportunities and enhances the recognition and participation of women in the sector.

The 2020 Women in Resources Awards will be presented across six categories:

Outstanding Woman in Resources: recognises an over 31 woman's achievements in her career, leadership skills, contribution to the resources sector and broader community, and her resilience in overcoming barriers and accepting new challenges.

Outstanding Young Woman in Resources: recognises an under 31 woman's achievements in her career, leadership skills, contribution to the resources sector and broader community, and her resilience in overcoming barriers and accepting new challenges.

Outstanding Operator/Technician/Trade Woman in Resources: recognises an outstanding woman who has broken new ground for women in non-traditional fields, and recognises her contribution to the resources sector and broader community.

Outstanding Company Initiative - Small to Medium Company: recognises a company of less than 1500 employees that has demonstrated a commitment to increasing the proportion of women in their workplace through the implementation of a gender diversity program or initiative.

Outstanding Company Initiative - Large Company: recognises a company of more than 1500 employees that has demonstrated a commitment to increasing the proportion of women in their workplace through the implementation of a gender diversity program, initiative or suite of initiatives.

Women in Resources Champion: recognises an individual, male or female, who has encouraged, promoted and advocated for the attraction, retention and promotion of women in the resources sector.

Nominations are now open, and close 5pm (WST) on Monday 11 November 2019. The awards nomination portal, guidelines for submitting nominations and profiles of previous winners are available on the CMEWA website.

Finalists will be announced in mid-January 2020, with the winners celebrated at the CMEWA Women in Resources Awards dinner to be held on Friday 6 March 2020.

Nomination workshop

CME will be holding a nomination workshop to assist companies and individuals in planning and preparing their nominations for the awards, with guest facilitator Sarah Mitchell who will present on what it takes to write an award-winning submission. The workshop will be held from 12pm to 1pm (WST) on Wednesday 16 October 2019. To register for the workshop, email chamber@cmewa.com.
