Women in Mining Western Australia (WIMWA)’s annual Summit addresses topics vital to women and men in the workplace.
The Summit connects attendees, inspires action, and together with attendees’ commitment to use these occasions to learn from one another, demonstrate the power of networking and the community it has created.

Critical communication expert Celeste Headlee is an award-winning journalist, professional speaker and author of Heard Mentality and We Need To Talk: How To Have Conversations That Matter. Celeste’s TEDx Talk Sharing 10 Ways to Have a Better Conversation has over 19 million views to date.
Professor Cordelia Fine, awarded the Edinburgh Medal in 2018 (a prestigious award that recognises scientists who have excelled in their field and contributed significantly to our understanding of humanity), received the award for her work in challenging gender bias in science for her contributions to public debates about gender equality.
Graham Kerr, Chief Executive Officer of South32, believes it is his role as a leader to drive changes that need to be made, to encourage, promote and advocate for women in South32 and the wider resources industry. As CEO of South32, he works to set the tone and tolerance from the top, putting in place measurable objectives to ensure more balanced gender representations at all levels of the organisation and is actively tracking progress. Graham is an active member of Male Champions of Change and CEO’s for Gender Equity through which he has sought to influence others to drive change in their respective organisations.
The WIMWA summit is an all-day event, followed by networking drinks between 5pm and 7pm.
