The Gold Industry Group will host its inaugural event to recognise and promote women in gold this Friday night at The Perth Mint.
The Women in Gold Sundowner, in conjunction with Women in Mining WA, has generated significant interest attracting more than 300 members and industry colleagues.
Our guests will have the unique opportunity to network with industry and hear from keynote speaker Gold Fields Australia Vice President of Legal and Compliance Kelly Carter.
Gold Fields are the world’s seventh-biggest gold producer, and Kelly plays a key role in overseeing their operational performance and regional strategy.
Kelly will discuss the opportunities in the mining sector and how resilience and embracing change can set you up for success. She will also cover what all industry leaders can do to support women in the workplace as well as provide an overview of the Gold Fields Women in Gold project.
Guests will also hear from Gold Road Resources Non-Executive Director Sharon Warburton, who is our Master of Ceremonies. Sharon will share her insights as an entrepreneur in mining and champion of flexibility, diversity and work-life balance.
Gold Industry Group Director David Woodford will provide an address on the contributions of women in the gold industry and an update on the Group's community engagement activities.
"Promoting gender diversity in our industry is a key focus for the Gold Industry Group and we are looking forward to hosting our first Women in Gold networking event this Friday," said David.
The support from our members is vital to our success. A special thanks to our event gold sponsor Gold Fields Australia, host sponsor The Perth Mint and promotional sponsors Gold Road Resources, Ramelius Resources and BGC Contracting.
