Evolution Mining have signed a two-year partnership with the Johnathan Thurston Academy to improve employment and training opportunities for Indigenous job seekers.
The partnership will also assist local and Indigenous participants by preparing them to be job ready, building self-confidence and developing skills in resume writing, job interviewing skills and submitting job applications.
Development of a rapid cancer test at the University of Queensland (UQ) using gold nanoparticles, will be aided by a $300,000 donation from Australian gold mining company Evolution Mining.
The philanthropic funding will help researchers at UQ’s Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, whilst the new blood test could give oncologists an early and more accurate prognosis.
The Gold Industry Group closed the year with the announcement of three additional new Directors at yesterday’s Annual General Meeting.
Evolution Mining Group Manager External and Indigenous Relations Anika McManus, Newmont Australia Group Executive Sustainability and External Relations Kenneth Ramsey, and Newcrest Mining Manager External Affairs and Social Performance Ben Bryant were welcomed to the diverse leadership team.
