Evolution Mining is powering gold’s unique medicinal benefits through its partnership with the University of Queensland (UQ), emerging as a key part of medical research applications using nanotechnology to detect the presence of cancer cells and in a new chip that monitors the immune system.
Evolution first aided UQ’s Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) to develop a rapid cancer test using gold nanoparticles in 2019.
Newcrest Mining Limited has announced a A$1 million contribution to support cutting edge COVID-19 vaccine research in partnership with the University of Queensland (‘UQ’).
The funding has been made by Newcrest as part of its recently launched A$20 million Community Support Fund and will be specifically deployed to support UQ’s ground-breaking ‘molecular clamp’ technique to develop a vaccine for COVID-19.
Development of a rapid cancer test at the University of Queensland (UQ) using gold nanoparticles, will be aided by a $300,000 donation from Australian gold mining company Evolution Mining.
The philanthropic funding will help researchers at UQ’s Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, whilst the new blood test could give oncologists an early and more accurate prognosis.
