Evolution champions environmental rehabilitation pilot program

Evolution Mining has partnered with NQ Dry Tropics (NQDT) to pilot an innovative Environmental Enhancement project, aimed at re-establishing an open body of water and restoring its fauna diversity.

By removing 15 hectares of aquatic weeds within the Kalamia Creek wetlands in Ayr, North Queensland, the project will explore how to prevent their continued spread, and how those weeds can then be harvested, transported to a local landholder and turned into compost, with the resulting organic matter used to improve local agricultural soils and benefit farm productivity.
