As the Group heads into its seventh year of operation, its role in connecting Australians to the nation’s gold industry continues to expand.
The Gold Industry Group (GIG) released their 2020 Impact Report, reflecting on the impact of their activities during a tumultuous year for most Australians with the challenges that COVID-19 presented throughout the country and the rest of the world.
Overcoming these challenges with numerous achievements was made possible through the collective effort of GIG members.
The Gold Industry Group and Deloitte will hold their annual breakfast event at Diggers & Dealers on 13 October, where industry leaders will share their insights on the developments in decarbonisation led by Australia’s mining sector.
This year’s speakers include Northern Star Resources Non-Executive Director Mary Hackett, IGO Head of Corporate Affairs and Company Secretary Joanne McDonald, Deloitte Director Sustainability and Climate Change Services Michael Wood, and Pilbara Minerals Limited Chief Operations Officer Dale Henderson.
A powerhouse panel of five leading industry businesswomen shared their insights on Indigenous Relations to a sold-out crowd at the Western Australian Mining Club’s luncheon last month, emphasizing the need for visible role models and a dedicated business council.
It was the Club’s first in-person event to be held since February 2020 due to the State’s COVID-19 restrictions, and was also live-streamed to interstate and international viewers unable to travel into WA.
The Gold Industry Group (GIG) is proud to be the Industry Partner of the ninth annual Mining and Emergency Response Competition, held in Perth from 22 to 24 November 2019.
The GIG will provide two free mental health workshops, courtesy of community partner LIVIN, to almost 200 emergency response personnel, event marshals and volunteers.
