The WA Mining Club Young Professionals’ final networking event of 2020 attracted more than 200 members to the Ritz Carlton, where a panel of industry leaders discussed ‘Risk, Exploration and Technology’ in relation to recent socio-economic impacts on the sector felt around the world.
The WA Mining Club, in conjunction with industry co-sponsors, has opened its 2020 scholarships to encourage and foster the development of the next generation of leaders within Western Australia’s mining sector.
This is the 18th year in which the WA Mining Club has supported the next generation of mining professionals, with more than 74 students receiving scholarships since 2003.
CRC ORE asked Kalgoorlie resident, Doctor Laurence Dyer, to shed some light on the different roles he has taken on and the many hats he now wears.
Dr. Dyer is a husband, father, sportsman, the Technical Advisor for the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mining Innovation Hub (an initiative of the CRC ORE) and is the Discipline Lead for Metallurgical Engineering at Curtin University’s WA School of Mines.
