The AusIMM Kalgoorlie Branch will host the 2019 Kalgoorlie Metallurgical Symposium (MetFest), sponsored by Northern Star Resources, Evolution Mining, Norton Gold Fields and Independence Group during 4 – 8 November 2019.
MetFest is a week-long event full of activities including plant tours; training, professional development and networking opportunities, a friendly golf tournament, the Metallurgical Symposium, and will conclude with the semi‑formal MetFest gala dinner.
The main event – the MetFest Symposium – will involve local processing professionals presenting on topics covering ore sorting, mineral processing, metallurgical extraction and up-stream processing. This will be a great opportunity for all processing personnel (including operators and students) to network with other processing professionals.

Monday 4 November
Plant Tours - 8:30am and 1pm, pick up from 44 MacDonald Street Kalgoorlie.
The 2019 Kalgoorlie MetFest opens with two optional plant tours to either Northern Star Resources’ Kanowna Belle Process Plant or BHP’s Nickel Smelter.
Tuesday 5 November
Golf Tournament - 8:30am, Kalgoorlie Golf Course.
Bureau Veritas will provide an optional golf tournament that will be an excellent opportunity to network with local metallurgists and mineral processing personnel, play some golf, and enjoy Melbourne Cup day.
Tuesday 5 - Thursday 7 November
Workshops - half day, whole day and two day courses.
The AusIMM Kalgoorlie Branch and its partners have arranged for a variety of professional development and training workshops. Each course is run independently by the training provider. Note: some workshops will overlap.

Friday 8 November
Metallurgical Symposium - 7:30am, 44 MacDonald Street Kalgoorlie.
Sponsored by Evolution Mining, this full-day event will comprise of presentations from local processing professionals and other industry representatives; who will share ideas and outcomes from metallurgical based projects, the issues and challenges being experienced, as well as future opportunities and advancements in technology.
MetFest Gala Dinner - 6:45pm, 566 Hannan Street Kalgoorlie.
Sponsored by Northern Star Resources, this is a great way to finish off MetFest by socialising and networking with colleagues and other like-minded industry people.
The 2019 MetFest and associated events are open to all processing and non-processing personnel, including the general community. Anyone interested in attending any of the events listed below are encouraged to register their attendance.
