The Gold Industry Group will hold their annual Diggers & Dealers Leadership Breakfast on Tuesday 8 August 2023.
Join us for a thought-provoking discussion about Reshaping the Workplace of Tomorrow: Gold's Pathway Forward.
The gold mining industry, not unlike other industries, is encountering a shift in its workforce. The next generation of workers has different expectations and higher demands of their employers, as they seek greater mobility and prioritise work-life balance. Additionally, they are more diverse, bringing with them a broad and valuable array of skills, experiences, and knowledge.
To retain existing employees, and attract future talent, the gold mining industry must adapt to change. This means overhauling its culture to establish respectful, inclusive, and safe environments for all employees. By rethinking the way the industry perceives and treats its workforce, we can dismantle traditional barriers to entry and success, and foster workplaces where everyone feels valued, respected, and welcomed, so that the industry is well-positioned to thrive in the years ahead.
This timely panel discussion, to be moderated by Cannings Purple’s Peter Klinger, will feature a line-up of industry leaders.
Jake Klein - Executive Chairman, Evolution Mining
Marianne Dravnieks - Executive Manager People and Culture, Northern Star Resources
Wayne Bramwell – Managing Director, Westgold Resources
Cheryl Yam – Research Fellow, Curtin University Future of Work Institute
Darren Saunders - Deputy Chief Scientist and Engineer, Executive Director, Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer and Senior Research Advisor, Elizabeth Broderick & Co
