Australia’s largest precious metals event, the Precious Metals Investment Symposium (PMIS), returns in October for its 10th year, bringing together explorers and producers, to bullion companies and other investment vehicles.
To be held on 24 to 26 October 2019 at the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney, New South Wales, the Gold Industry Group (GIG) is an industry partner of the event for the 4th year, alongside member sponsors The Perth Mint, G4Si and ABC Bullion.
Richard Hayes, is delighted to again support the PMIS in his capacity of both GIG Chairman and Perth Mint Chief Executive Officer.
“The Perth Mint are excited to continue as the gold sponsor of Australia’s largest and most anticipated precious metals industry event.
“Each year we are fascinated by the capacity of thought leaders, precious metals experts and global investors to collaborate, share knowledge and shape our industry for a prosperous future,” said Mr Hayes.
In preparation for this year’s event the organisers are pulling out all stops, with a host of keynote speakers from leading mining companies across the globe set to provide invaluable insights into current and future market trends as well as the latest global opportunities in precious metals development and investment.
“As an investor in both physical bullion and mining companies, I’ve always been fascinated by the unique opportunities this industry provides,” said PMIS Managing Director Kerry Stevenson.
“This event gives all Australians a chance to celebrate the proud history of the Australian gold industry and educate themselves about how to invest in the sector. It’s also about understanding the way new technology is making it easier than ever to buy and sell precious metals,” she added.
Last year saw the headline event descend on Perth in Western Australia for the first time, with member speakers from Kirkland Lake Gold, The Perth Mint, Ramelius Resources, Gold Fields, St Barbara, Saturn Metals, Impact Minerals, PCF Capital, Northern Star Resources, Gold Road Resources, Westgold Resources and ABC Bullion presenting.
During day one of the 2018 PMIS, The Perth Mint launched its GoldPass™ smartphone app for investors, giving them the unique ability to securely buy, store and sell gold via digital certificates; whilst the world’s largest specimens, uncovered at Beta Hunt gold mine near Kambalda, were showcased for the first time.
A lustrous 20-year career for Ian Murray was formally recognised during the Gala Dinner, when he was presented with the prestigious Gavin Thomas Mining Award for his ongoing contributions to the gold mining industry.
Launched during his 2018 PMIS presentation, PCF Capital Group Managing Director Liam Twigger then provided the Gold Industry Group in the following weeks with insight into new company FutureGold, formed to bridge the gap between gold and crypto markets, by issuing crypto security tokens to raise up to US $250 million to fund emerging gold companies.
