Ausdrill has joined the Gold Industry Group as a strong advocate and service provider to the gold sector.
Ausdrill Managing Director Ron Sayers started the company in 1987 with a single drill rig operating from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. Today the Ausdrill Group employs over 4,000 staff worldwide.
“Gold is our core business, and over the past 30 years we have provided services to many of the world’s leading gold mining companies, both in Australia and Africa.
“It’s a matter of considerable pride for our people that we have been working with KCGM at Australia’s largest open pit gold mine, the Super Pit in Kalgoorlie, for over 25 years,” said Ron.
“Ausdrill was founded in the gold mining town of Kalgoorlie, that’s where our roots and our history lie, and we have always been happy to champion the gold industry and promote its importance to Australia.”
Gold Industry Group Chairman Richard Hayes welcomed Ausdrill as a new associate member.
“We are delighted to have Ausdrill support our efforts to build a unified voice for Australia’s gold industry.
“We are really looking forward to working with Ausdrill and other companies providing crucial services in the gold sector,” Richard said.
As a diversified mining services company, Ausdrill provides services in contract mining, grade control, drill & blast, exploration, mineral analysis, procurement & logistics and manufacturing.
“The future of the gold industry depends on exploration,” Ron said. “It sounds obvious, but without companies committing to exploration drilling we will never discover the projects that will create jobs and opportunities for future generations of Australians.
“Exploration drilling for the gold business was our focus on day one as a business, and it remains a key part of what we do for our clients today.”
In the early 1990’s, Ausdrill expanded its drilling operations internationally and added contract mining to its services, predominantly in the gold sector.
In 1994, the company was floated on the Australian Securities Exchange and in the years since has continued to expand and diversify its services across the mining sector.
