Hundreds of job seekers flocked to Perth city last month for the Kal Jobs Expo, to speak with prospective employers about a wide range of job opportunities in Western Australia’s Goldfields region.
Following the KBCCI’s recent ‘Explore the Goldfields’ Community Expo, showcasing the region’s variety of services, amenities and attractions for existing residents and visitors, the second annual Kal Jobs Expo brought the regions opportunities with 26 companies to Perth.
The Expo was featured live on 6PR radio and in the Kalgoorlie Miner, and included Gold Industry Group member companies Saracen Mineral Holdings, BGC Contracting, KCGM, Evolution Mining, City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Gold Fields, Northern Star Resources, Macmahon Holdings, and the WA School of Mines.
A variety of job roles were available for applicants, in either residential or FIFO rosters.
For the Gold Industry Group, the Expo presented the perfect opportunity for a soft launch of the upcoming Gold Jobs website.
A central hub for job listings in Australia’s gold industry, the new website will include information on how to enter the sector, with role definitions, career tips, employee Q&As, regional profiles, company overviews and much more, designed to be a resource for job seekers, employers, teachers and students alike.
