The Gold Industry Group celebrated the vital contribution of its Gold Class Facilitators in inspiring the future industry leaders of Australia’s gold industry through the delivery of Gold Class Sessions at its annual Gold Class Awards.
The Gold Class Awards were presented at the GIG’s Industry Sundowner on 15 June.
Third time lucky for the AngloGold Ashanti Australia Lions, who claimed their first championship title defeating the Gold Fields Agnew Turbines at the 2021 Gold Industry Group Corporate Netball Day.
It was an even start as both the Lions and the Turbines battled it out for gold in from of cheering industry colleagues, but the Lions lifted the bar in the second term securing them a seven-goal victory, 14 - 7.

Gold Fields again donated a 99.9% pure one-kilogram gold bar for auction at the Telethon Ball held on 16 October, and the precious donation prompted vigorous bidding. Valued at approximately $80,000 the bar was eventually auctioned off for $135,000.
