The Gold Industry Group’s naming rights partnership of the West Australian Netball League is being recognised in a dedicated Gold Round this week, at the State’s Gold Netball Centre.
Round 13 of the Gold Industry Group West Australian Netball League (GIG WANL) has been dedicated to its new Naming Rights Partner, and Netball WA’s first Principal Partner, the Gold Industry Group.
This comes after West Coast Fever celebrated their Gold Industry Group Round in Round 13 of Suncorp Super Netball in front of 7,393 fans at RAC Arena last weekend.
The gold industry’s dedication to supporting the wider community saw the association commit to a record $5 million partnership with netball in Western Australia in April.
As the State’s premier netball competition, the GIG WANL is an integral component of the Netball WA athlete pathway and a stepping stone to become a West Coast Fever player.
Gold Industry Group Executive Officer Rebecca Johnston said the Group was proud to ensure the growth and sustainability of the League over the next three years.
“We are looking forward to celebrating the Gold Industry Group West Australian Netball League and our partnership at tomorrow night’s dedicated gold round.
“Our investment in the League is establishing talent pathways through club grants and expanding the competition through a broadcast platform, which allows regional communities to watch their local teams,” Ms Johnston said.
The partnership further cements the Gold Industry Group as a leader in diversity both in resources and the broader community.
Netball WA’s work with the Group is creating a clear pathway for participants to gain employment in the gold industry, pursue higher education opportunities and become leaders and role models in the sector.
The Round 13 fixtures include Open, Under 20 and Men’s divisions of the GIG WANL.
Netball WA Chief Executive Officer Simon Taylor said it was important to acknowledge the Gold Industry Group with a dedicated round in its flagship competition.
“We were delighted to welcome the Gold Industry Group as Naming Rights Partner for the West Australian Netball League ahead of this season.
“As the State’s leading netball competition, it is only appropriate we have a Round that recognises and celebrates the huge contribution the Gold Industry Group is making to the competition and netball across WA.
“The final two rounds of the competition are shaping up to be incredibly tight, and we’re looking forward to another hotly contested finals series," Mr Taylor concluded.
