Westgold’s Gold Rush emerged victorious at the 2023 Gold Industry Group Corporate Netball Day, outperforming the Bellevue Blazers in the final match.
The half-day event, now in its fifth year, saw record attendance, making it the most attended in the partnership's history. A total of 19 teams from the Gold Industry Group participated, reflecting the event's growing popularity and significance. Co-organized with Netball WA, the day was filled with competitive netball matches and opportunities for community interaction among professionals from the gold industry.
Adding to the teams competing both Shooting Stars and Netball WA entered their own teams into the tournament adding another level of prowess to the level of competition.
The win by Gold Rush was a notable achievement, especially as they claimed the title from AngloGold, who had been the champions for the past two years. The final against the Bellevue Blazers was tightly contested, showcasing the strategic and cohesive play from all the participants.
Participants and spectators also enjoyed culinary delights, including Big Don’s smoked meats and gelato, adding to the festive atmosphere of the day. The event concluded with the Sundowner, a social gathering for attendees to relax and celebrate the achievements of the day.
