As Shooting Stars’ Premier Partner, the Gold Industry Group (GIG) is excited to announce the program’s expansion into Laverton, thanks to the combined support of the GIG and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
The program’s new trial site will be based at Laverton School and begin in Term 4 this year, making it the second site based in the Goldfields region and the eighth site in Western Australia overall.
The fifth annual Netball WA Multicultural Carnival saw a record 112 teams from across the State come together at the Gold Netball Centre on Friday 30 August.

Ten Indigenous girls from the Gold Industry Group backed Shooting Stars education program were rewarded for their achievements this month, taking part in an action-packed leadership camp in Perth.

The Gold Industry Group (GIG)’s recent mental health tour with charity LIVIN is being hailed a success after more than 40 stigma breaking workshops were delivered across Australia reaching more than 1,200 gold industry workers, locals and students.
As a result of the resounding positive feedback from attendees, the tour has been extended with more workshops to be delivered at gold mine sites in June and a school tour is being explored for 2020.
